Do anti depression medications need to be increased over time and do they eventually not work?
what is or has been your experience on these medications and which ones were used?
how so for your opinion?
Thanks for your answers!
I have been on the same anti-depressants for about 3 years. There was only one that had to be changed and that was because it was a bit too strong. It is possible to build up an immunity to some of the medications, or they aren't the correct one for you in which case your doctor will change to something else. This isn't a common problem though. The medications are increased or decreased according to your depressive episodes. Once stabilized they usually stay the same. I am bipolar and taking 7 different medications. Hope this helped. :}

Anti-depressants can be treated for a nervous condition also. I am on Imiprimine and have been for a long time, they work just fine for me but some anti-depressants don't suit everyone or even work for that matter. Best have a chat with your doctor .

They are for short-term treatment. The only way to cure depression is to use mind techniques and emotion control. Email me for real help.

I take Wellbutrin SR (150 mg) in the morning, and Lexapro (10 mg) in the evening, for depression and anxiety. I've been taking that for over a year and a half, and it's working very well for me.
I've not had a problem with my dose - but I've only been on them for a couple years now. Some people may build up an immunity to the medications - requiring a larger dose, but I think it doesn't happen in everyone.
